Here goes with the irrelevant information!
Today I have begun the (for me) slightly arduous process of registering for gifts. We are trying to make careful decisions about what we need and what we want, mostly for the kitchen. Cooking is a daily task for me, one that I enjoy and think about often. The idea of creating a list of my dream kitchen toys is an exciting prospect. So far I have created registries at Williams-Sonoma and Sur La Table. I have a lot of work yet to do on them, as I'm trying to price-check between different sites to find the best deals on the things I am registering for.
Also today, I began working on Inkscape, an open-source software program that operates as an Adobe Illustrator substitute, to design our wedding invitations. The plan is that my friend and co-worker's husband will screen print the final product. He asked for it in an Illustrator format, which I don't have access to. Plus I just think open-source software is awesome and worth supporting. Hopefully this file type will work for him, otherwise at least I'll have gone through the process of designing this thing, which is intimidating in its own right.
